Cost Saving

AAC blocks are considered as a cost-saving option for several reasons:

  • Faster construction: The large size and lightweight nature of AAC blocks enable faster construction times, reducing labour costs and construction time.
  • Reduce Plastering: Good amount of cost be saved by reducing the amount of plastering due to the high quality finishing of AAC Blocks.
  • Joint Mortar: AAC Blocks require only less amount of adhesive/mortar on the joints due to the large size of AAC Blocks.
  • Energy savings: The insulating properties of AAC blocks help to reduce heating and cooling costs, resulting in long-term energy savings.
  • Longevity: AAC blocks are known for their durability and resistance to weathering and decay, which can result in long-term cost savings by reducing the need for maintenance and repairs.
  • Lower transportation costs: The lightweight nature of AAC blocks means that they can be transported in larger quantities per load, reducing transportation costs and fuel consumption.

LOW WATER ABSORPTION

This cellular structure makes AAC blocks less dense and less porous compared to traditional concrete blocks, resulting in lower water absorption. In addition, the closed-cell structure of AAC blocks makes them highly resistant to moisture penetration, which helps to prevent water from seeping into the blocks and causing damage. Furthermore, AAC blocks have a lower porosity and higher compressive strength than traditional concrete blocks, which also contributes to their low water absorption properties. This means that they are less likely to absorb moisture from the surrounding environment, reducing the risk of water damage and mold growth.

TIME SAVING

Constructing with AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks is considered time-saving for several reasons:

  • Larger block size: AAC blocks are larger than traditional concrete blocks, which means that fewer blocks are needed to cover the same area. This results in faster construction times and reduced labour costs.
  • Lightweight: AAC blocks are lightweight compared to traditional concrete blocks, which means that they are easier to handle and transport. This can save time and reduce labour costs during construction.
  • Easy to cut and shape: AAC blocks can be easily cut and shaped on site using standard cutting tools, which can save time and reduce the need for specialized equipment.
  • Quick drying time: The porous cellular structure of AAC blocks allows them to dry quickly, reducing the time needed for installation.
  • Precise dimensions: AAC blocks are manufactured to precise dimensions, which means that they fit together tightly and require less mortar. This can save time and reduce material costs during construction.

TERMITE FREE

AAC (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) blocks are considered termite-free because of their inorganic composition and solid cellular structure. The solid cellular structure of AAC blocks provides no gaps or cavities for termites to enter or nest in, further reducing the risk of termite infestation. Unlike wood or other organic materials, AAC blocks do not deteriorate over time and are not susceptible to decay or moisture damage, which can also attract termites. Moreover, the manufacturing process of AAC blocks involves a high-temperature autoclaving process that eliminates any organic matter or potential food sources for termites. This process makes AAC blocks resistant to termite infestation, which is a common problem in many construction materials.

Light Weight

AAC blocks are lightweight due to the unique manufacturing process used to create them. The process involves mixing sand, cement, lime, and water with a small amount of aluminium powder. This mixture is then poured into moulds, and the aluminium powder reacts with the other ingredients to create tiny bubbles of hydrogen gas. The hydrogen gas expands and creates millions of small, interconnected air cells throughout the mixture, giving it a cellular structure that makes it lightweight. The mixture is then allowed to cure and harden, resulting in a finished product that is significantly lighter than traditional concrete blocks. Additionally, the lightweight nature of AAC blocks makes them easier to handle and transport, reducing construction time and labour costs.

Uniform Size

The use of precision molds and machinery in the manufacturing process ensures that AAC blocks are consistent in size and shape. This uniformity makes it easier for builders to estimate the number of blocks required for a particular project and reduces the need for additional cutting and shaping on site. It also leads to a more efficient and streamlined construction process, reducing material waste and labor costs. The uniform size of AAC blocks also improves the overall quality of the construction project. The tight fit between the blocks reduces the amount of mortar required, resulting in a stronger and more stable structure. The precise dimensions of the blocks also allow for more accurate alignment and levelness, resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing finished product.

Fire Resistance

The cellular structure of AAC blocks provides excellent insulation properties, which helps to reduce heat transfer during a fire. The air pockets in the blocks also act as a barrier to slow down the spread of fire, preventing it from quickly moving through the walls and floors of a building. Furthermore, the high-temperature curing process used in the manufacturing of AAC blocks helps to enhance their fire resistance. During the curing process, the blocks are subjected to high-pressure steam and temperatures of up to 200°C, which causes the aluminium powder to react and release hydrogen gas. This reaction creates a network of small air pockets throughout the blocks, giving them a highly porous and non-combustible cellular structure.

Sound Insulation

The high porosity of AAC blocks helps to trap sound waves within the material, allowing them to be dissipated as heat energy. This results in a reduction in the amount of sound that is transmitted through the walls and floors of a building, creating a quieter and more comfortable living or working environment.

In addition, the use of AAC blocks can help to improve the overall acoustic performance of a building. By reducing sound transmission through walls and floors, AAC blocks can help to minimize the impact of external noise, such as traffic or aircraft noise. They can also help to prevent the transfer of sound between different areas of a building, creating a more peaceful and private living or working environment.
